Because it’s always 5:00 somewhere, this week’s recipe is Ina’s Pomegranate Cosmopolitans that I have been making for quite some time. She first published the recipe in 2006 and demonstrated in this link how to make them one of her early shows. She admits to being a big fan of the pink drink, after initially being wowed by the punch they pack!
Pomegranate Cosmos are always a hit with my girlfriends (and some of the guys too!) and is particularly festive for this time of year given its color. But be forewarned, prepared as written they are quite strong!
As written, the recipe serves 6 but you can definitely make the drinks smaller OR you can make them a bit weaker by adding more pomegranate and lime juice. It’s your call!
You can whip up a batch of Pomegranate Cosmopolitans early in the day so the mixture has time to chill in the fridge. When you are ready to serve, simply shake with some ice (or not) and pour into chilled glasses.
I like Grey Goose vodka for this drink which Ina recommends in her more recent books, but use whatever you have on hand. Looks like she used Stolichnaya in the video!
Cheers and Happy Holidays to everyone…

These Pomegranate Cosmopolitans are always a hit at a party. They pack a punch so you can make them a little weaker by increasing the pomegranate and lime juices if you choose. Or you can shake them with some ice to dilute before serving. Make a batch ahead and your entertaining will be easy! Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 2 cups good vodka
- 1 cup orange liqueur, preferably Cointreau
- 1 cup Pomegranate juice
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and chill until ready to serve.
- You can shake the mixture with ice to dilute a bit if you choose and pour into frozen martini glasses. Or you can simply pour them into the glasses directly from the pitcher for a slightly stronger drink. Garnish with pomegranate seeds and a lime wedge.
